The goal of this volume is to present the worldview characteristic of different periods of Western thought. In Chapter 1 Frame explores the ancient Greek worldview and evaluates it in the light of the gospel. Aspects of the Greek worldview reflected upon are the one and the many, the Greek way of worship, a survey of Greek philosophy focusing on Heraclitus (525–475), Parmenides (510-ca. 430), Pythagoras (572–500), Socrates (470–399), Plato (427–347), Aristotle (384–322), Stoicism, and Plotinus (AD 205–70).
