Justification: Yesterday, Today, and Forever

Justification: Yesterday, Today, and Forever

  • Semi-Technical
  • N. T. Wright

In this article N. T. Wright responds to critical questions on his view on justification by faith. For Wright justification is rooted firmly in Jesus himself. He has four preliminary considerations: the question of Scripture and tradition, the issue of Paul’s context and later contexts, the methodological issues of words and stories, and the understanding of Second Temple Judaism. Wright then gives an exposition of his understanding of justification under the aspects of the New Testament context, the language of justification, and exposition and exegesis.
