Justification and Justice: An Edwardsean Proposal

Justification and Justice: An Edwardsean Proposal

  • Technical
  • Randall E. Otto

What is the relation of justification by faith to justice? Otto argues that it was for the purpose of establishing justice that Jesus] sacrificed himself. The [[work of Christ was and is focused on the justice of God. This has tremendous implications for the Christian life. Union with Christ through faith leads to a continuation of the works of justice that Christ did. This article finds in the work of Jonathan Edwards a synthesis between justification and justice; hence its discussion of Edwards' doctrine of justification. The relationship between faith and works comes into sharp focus.
