The Inaugurated End-Time Tribulation and Its Bearing on the Church Office of Elder and on Christian Living in General

The Inaugurated End-Time Tribulation and Its Bearing on the Church Office of Elder and on Christian Living in General

  • Semi-Technical
  • Gregory K. Beale

Eschatology is a present reality that should shape the life of the church. Beale argues that the origin of the office of elder is partly related to the inauguration of the latter-day tribulation. This article discusses this inauguration of the tribulation in some detail, and also takes a look at the motivation for godly living during these end times. The identification of the Son of Man and the tribulation in Daniel 7 is explored. 2 Thessalonians 2 and 1 John 3 are examined for an understanding of the inauguration of the great tribulation.
