The Importance of the Noahic Covenant in Biblical Theology

The Importance of the Noahic Covenant in Biblical Theology

  • Semi-Technical
  • Aaron Chalmers

How important is the Noahic covenant in Scripture? This article wants to emphasize the importance of the Noahic covenant for biblical theology. This covenant in particular establishes the foundation for the story of God’s commitment to creation, and in particular, the preservation of life on earth. God's activity reaches out to embrace not only humanity but also the created animals, and provides an anticipation of the conclusion of the story of redemption.
