This article is a review of the influential work, Justification and Variegated Nomism, edited by D. A. Carson, Peter O'Brien, and Mark A. Seifrid. The volume concerns itself with the question whether E. P. Sanders got early Judaism right or wrong, and thus in general the book considers the New Perspective on Paul. The review explains that the book disputes six areas of Sanders' analysis of various Jewish texts: those areas of obedience to the law and acceptance within the covenant, repentance and obedience to the law, continuing obedience, a static or a dynamic relationship, and election and final destiny, and divine assistance and obedience. The article then offers an overall favourable evaluation of the book.
