How should Jesus' pronouncements on divorce and remarriage be interpreted? The interpretation of Erasmus was incorporated into confessional positions of churches. This paper gives an overview of the problem and gives a critique of the more traditional position taken in evangelical churches.The author gives his own understanding of 1 Corinthians 6:15-18 and 1 Corinthians 7:25-28.
