Covenant Life in the Home (1)

Covenant Life in the Home (1)

  • Arie DenHartog

Looking at the text of Deuteronomy 6:6-9, this series of articles looks at how Christians can live covenant lives in the home. One can truly say that the home is the basic institution of society. This article shows that God instituted the home through the creation of marriage. He intended the home to be a place where covenantal life can be truly experienced. Even after the Fall, God’s covenant of mercy makes the home a place where God’s knowledge, fellowship and love remain the centre of life.

It is important to remember that culture does not give the church its agenda. All it gives the church is its context. The church’s belief and mission come from the Word of God. David F. Wells
