Regnum Spiriti: The Role of the Spirit in the Social Ethics of the Kingdom

Regnum Spiriti: The Role of the Spirit in the Social Ethics of the Kingdom

  • Semi-Technical
  • Mark R. Saucy

Saucy writes from the conviction that understanding the Holy Spirit is important for understanding the aims and means of the kingdom of God in the present age. His starting point is that the Holy Spirit is directly related to the manifestation of the kingdom in this world. In the tension between the so-called already and not yet, it is a proper understanding of the work of the Spirit that will keep the church from the dangers of over-realized eschatology or under-realized eschatology. Saucy then gives a biblical exposition of the role of the Spirit in the present age.
