The field of New Testament textual criticism was strongly influenced by the publication of Bart Ehrman’s Misquoting Jesus: The Story behind Who Changed the Bible and Why. The publication's main argument was that the early orthodox faith radically changed the text to conform to their views. The present article offers an analysis of two aspects (postmodern intrusions and the place of theological presuppositions) of the change that took place in text-critical studies after Ehrman's book was published.
