"You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise" (Deut. 6:7) This is the instruction to all parents to bring the Word of God to their children at all times. A huge and beautiful responsibility! Bring the Word to your children, in the morning when you wake them up, after school, as you drive or walk somewhere with them, when you sit to eat together, and before they go to bed at night. Tell them all about their Father, Saviour, and Comforter! However, it is not always easy to bring the Word of God to younger children, to bring it in words that they can understand. In this section we want to help all parents, grandparents, pastors, and Sunday School teachers with this important task.

The devotions are written for an age group of about 6 to 11 years old.

We recommend that you read the Scripture passage with them, and then reread the passage on which the devotion focuses. After this, read the devotion, and discuss the reflection question with your child. Try to lead your child with questions in order to help him/her find the answers and talk to you about his/her faith. After this, pray with your children. First let them pray, and then pray yourself, focusing on the message of the devotion.

May the Lord bless you in your walk with him and his children!
