This volume is an anthology of writings representing a high view of Scripture and reflecting the historic Reformed theological and confessional tradition. It offers a selection of texts on the doctrine of Scripture. The purpose of Part 1 of this volume is to demonstrate that the Reformational views of Martin Luther, John Calvin, Ulrich Zwingli and Heinrich Bullinger on the doctrine of Scripture led to the formulation of the Westminster Confession of Faith’s conclusion. Excerpts are given from Luther’s Bondage of the Will, the First Zurich Disputation, and John Calvin’s Institutes of the Christian Religion.
